Fossilized Shark Tooth Large .75-1.25 Inches w Info Card
Fossilized Shark Tooth Large .75 - 1.25 Inches
Information Card Included
The sharks that these fossilized teeth came from lived in ancient seas that covered much of the southeastern United States and northwestern Africa 10 to 25 million years ago. Of the 350 species which have been classified, those found in these particular areas include the Atlantic Sand, Blacktip, Bull, Carcharodon Megalodon, Dusky, Great White, Spinner, Mako, Hammerhead, Hemipristis, Lemon, Sand and Tiger sharks.
The teeth of sharks are constantly regenerated. Each tooth that is lost or broken is quickly replaced by a new one, with a limitless supply of reserve teeth. One shark will produce thousands of teeth in its lifetime. The color of each tooth is caused by the minerals in which it was embedded as it fossilized.
