Brown Diamond Goldstone-Tumbled Mineral Rock Approx. 1 1/4-1 1/2 Inch
Goldstone is valued for its beautiful shimmering sparkles and is used to make beads, cabachons and other shapes for jewelry. Although its name implies that it contains gold, this gemstone does not contain a speck of gold.
Goldstone is not a naturally occuring gemstone. It was discovered by accident in the early 1800s when a monk in an Italian mnastery was making glass in a hot furnace, and spilled a vial of copper filings into the molten glass.
The method for making goldstone is a trade secret handed down through generations. Because of its scarcity and beauty, it is always in high demand.
